The Ubisoft India R&D Unit recently completed four years since its inception. The Unit has established itself as a hub for research across cutting-edge technologies. It includes data science, artificial intelligence, machine learning, etc., and their application in the video games industry. To celebrate these our successful collaboration with one of India’s finest academic institutions, IIT Bombay, we organised a meet and greet session on August 11, 2022.

In the presence of our Managing Director – Syed Abbas, our R&D team and automation team members were joined by the esteemed professors from IIT Bombay for the celebration. We invited local media as well to cover the event.

Looking back at our collaboration with IIT Bombay Research Park

On June 22, 2018, we inaugurated our first research lab at the IIT Bombay Research Park. For our R&D Team, it has been an incredible journey working in close collaboration with the faculty members and talented students of IIT Bombay.

With the onset of COVID-19, we transitioned into working remotely since our R&D unit was temporarily closed. After two years, we finally got the opportunity to visit the unit. Catching up with the IIT Bombay faculty and discussing future possibilities invoked renewed enthusiasm in all of us.

The main highlight of the event was a presentation showcasing some of the collaborative projects that our teams worked on. It included topics such as Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Tool Automation, Computer Vision, Data Analytics & Predictive Modelling, & Natural Language Processing.

Ms. Kameshwari Mangalampalli, Chief Operating Officer, IIT Bombay Research Park expressed how elated she was to welcome the teams back. She said, “The association with Ubisoft has grown stronger since the inception of the Ubisoft India R&D Unit on the IIT Bombay campus. Witnessing Ubisoft’s dynamic, collaborative interactions with the IIT Bombay faculty and students is fascinating. We hope to see this grow manifold in the coming years.”

The event was a great opportunity to reflect on how the past few years have been and how far we have come. Syed took this moment to congratulate the team and thank all those who have been active participants through this collaboration. “It is a great pleasure to see our partnership with IIT Bombay grow and to celebrate the fourth year of our presence inside the IIT Bombay Research Park. Video games have been the pioneers of many emerging technologies and hence there are many synergies between us and the top technology institute in the country. Many congratulations to our R&D team inside the campus who have worked on some very interesting and complex topics during the last four years”, said Syed.

The event offered participants an excellent opportunity to meet and speak with professors from different departments at the institute.
