On 16th May 2023, our Pune studio celebrated its 15th anniversary. From being a single-floor studio space in 2008 with a handful of employees, Ubisoft’s presence in India now boasts over 1,300 talents across two cities.
This historic milestone was shared by several veterans who have also completed 15 years along with our studio. The celebration began with great enthusiasm and a scrumptious breakfast. We revisited our pivotal moments and relived some memories.
We began the celebrations with our Managing Director Syed Abbas addressing the audience on how we got here over the decade. It was followed by a session where our employees got to know our veterans on a more personal level with a fun-filled rendezvous. The session was filled with several heartwarming anecdotes from our veterans along with many hilarious challenges during the formative years of the Pune studio. The session concluded with a much-awaited felicitation ceremony for the veterans to commemorate their unrelentless work over the years.
The celebrations also saw Ubisoft India’s first-ever internal cosplay competition. Participants put on an exhilarating performance for our entire studio and stood a chance to take home some cool prizes. The celebrations came to an end with a cake-cutting ceremony and many hearts (and stomachs) filled.
After a delicious lunch, multiple locations at our studio hosted a legacy games showcase – a chance for newcomers and veteran employees alike to discover (and rediscover) legendary games such as Assassin’s Creed Black Flag, Splinter Cell Blacklist, Far Cry 4, Just Dance 2014 and others.
We are proud to see where we are today, climbing the ladder of success and becoming the powerhouse of QC, Production and putting the Indian gaming industry on the global map. We hope and look forward to more years of Ubisoft India’s contributions to the world of video games.
